Retroware TV - A Website on the... Grow!

One thing that’s been taking much of my time the past few months is my work on the background of Retrowaretv.com, where I also post a lot of my videos.  It’s an absolutely great website, and I’m glad to know the great guys over there.  There are some very big things coming in the near future for RWTV, but a lot has been done already.  This includes the addition of several new talents and a relaunch of the website, which is much more functional than it used to be.

At this rate, there is new content every day, and I urge you to make Retroware a part of your daily roll of websites to visit – I truly believe that the quality of the videos (and now written articles!) over there speak for themselves.  In order to give you a taste of what the new producers bring to the site, I’ve decided to highlight a few of them below.

Lazy Game Reviews
An enthusiast of computer games (covering DOS, Apple, Windows, you name it), Clint has a software and hardware review show that is as informative as it is entertaining; and you know that’s high praise coming from me.  But besides all that, he’s got one of the best Duke Nukem impersonations out there. – http://retrowaretv.com/category/shows/lazy-game-reviews/

The Humans Are Coming
On Being Human is an extremely talented rock band that has joined RWTV to create music and videos based on – what else? – video game music.  Below you’ll find a taste of what they can do, but they also plan to create videos showing their creative process, as they actually make their music.  If that turns out anything like this effort, then I’ll be very excited. – http://retrowaretv.com/category/shows/thehumansarecoming/

The Video Game Years
I’ve highlighted this ensemble show in the past here, but it bears doing so again.  With a touch of humor and information, we talking heads of RWTV reminisce about the history of video games – one year at a time.  As we’re about to embark on the 80’s, we’re hitting our stride and gaining steam, with exciting new partnerships already in the works.  We recently conducted interviews with Keith Robinson of Intellivision, Chris Kohler of Wired, and Howard Phillips of Nintendo (and even more that are currently scheduled).  This show is something you won’t want to miss. – http://retrowaretv.com/category/shows/the-video-game-years/

So when is the relaunch of the Retroware going to happen since loading the site reminds me of a dial-up internet connection. (Glad that the videos don’t load like that though.)

As for the shows posted above I already watch Lazy Game Reviews and like how his sites look like OSs from back in the day. As for The Video Game Years I don’t watch it since it reminds me of shows on TV, which is not a good thing.

I’m really looking forward to the relaunch of the site. Not only is retroware TV one of the sites I check almost everyday, (half the time on my phone in between classes or on the bus/train,) I also applied to be a writer when the site goes back up. I really hope I get a spot. (Wish me luck, knock on wood and all the good stuff.)

I only recently started watching Lazy Game Reviews, and I’m enjoying it. I never really played many DOS games, or was allowed to play many games on the family PC growing up. “The Nintendo is for games. the computer is for work” was something i heard pretty often. I’ve also really enjoyed the video game years as it’s come along, it’s one of the shows I look forward to the most. I haven’t checked out The Humans Are Coming yet, I’ll have to do that soon.

I check the site daily and it’s awesome.

I also really like the shows Pixels to Plastic and The Game Chasers.  Probably because I collect retro-games and like well made collectables.

I wondered if the site was broken or something, too, and had similar thoughts that White Mage had. At least I know it’s not me, or one of the….3 browsers I tried. ;P

Strange – the website actually was already updated about a month ago.  Load times are much faster than they used to be.  That said, there were some nagging backend issues that were cleaned up a week ago.  Maybe try again?  I’m having no problem with any browser.
