The Wii University is, in fact, 6 Dreamcasts hot glyed together, with popsicle sticks providing structural support.

Sony and Microsoft will both emerge from their dens and see their respective shadows. Ned Ryerson will get punched in the face.

Curt Schilling will leave America in disgrace and live out his days in an insolvent Eurozone state where he won’t be judged or required to pay taxes.

The Wii U will definitely be showcased in my opinion. The fact that Nintendo has stated that it will hit the market for the 2012 holiday season means that it will either be the center piece of Nintendo’s showcase and most likely this year’s E3 or Nintendo will announce a delay. I think that delaying the release would be detrimental to Nintendo’s place in the market. With Wii, Nintendo cornered the market and didn’t know what to do with it. They have a chance now to be the first on the scene and corner the market again. Especially if Sony & Microsoft stick to their guns with the “10 year lifecycle” they’re proclaiming for their respective 7th generation systems.

Nintendo already mowed down Sony & Microsoft within the 7th generation. Broader audience appeal & lesser graphics beat out focused audience targeting and stellar graphics. If Nintendo releases their “8th generation” model while the competitors stick with what they have, Nintendo theoretically could have closed the gap in graphics while still maintaining a shotgun market approach (vs. the targeted rifle approach).

If things went this way, it would be interesting to see if Nintendo would finally wise up and realize the potential of such domination. Releasing older games (a la Virtual Console) but doing it in a way that they don’t release just terrible games that no one cares about but actual “gems”. Also, what if there was actually a quality control method in place to put a seal of approval (for lack of a better term) on every game; not for company approval to publish the game for their system but rather a seal of approval for the quality of the game. Still allow third party companies to churn out crap that you throw up (excuse the pun) on WiiWare, but then showcase games that Nintendo (through the Treehouse?) deems great games. Could be interesting.

Long answer to your one question. I won’t even touch the other two.

Nintendo discovered the key to great selling consoles were larger amounts of forsaken children when they combined two gamecubes.  I’ve heard they’ll be using one entire orphan per console in the Wii U.

Sony is shifting its focus to free to play mmos and Microsoft will soon be owned by Motorola, so aren’t going to be announcing anything.

Curt Schilling will be sacrificed to appease an angry Capcom.

I bet Microsoft pushes more Kinect stuff even though no one really cared all that much last time,it was sort of painful and embarassing to watch, and that they don’t say a word about their next console. Capcom will continue to sadden me and Nintendo will not anounce Mega Man Legends 3 or an english port of Mother 3. It would be nice to hear some more about the Wii U though because I’m sadly behind on it.

Sony and Microsoft will not announce new consoles.

Nintendo will announce that Roo and the Commodore will both be playable characters in the next installment of Super Smas Bros. The “ding”! soundeffect following the mention of the commodore’s name will be released later as DLC.

Serious answer: I expect this E3 to be uneventful. We know what’s coming and we’re too late in the generation for any major surprises, unless somebody wants to pull a Dark Sector and announce the first next-gen game before the consoles are announced. I’ll be looking forward to seeing the usual sequels: Halo 4, Assassin’s Creed 3, Resident Evil 6. I’m ready for another Splinter Cell. And while I’m not a big Metal Gear fan (MGS 3 Subsistence was the only one I liked), I trust Platinum Games to make a good action game far more than I would have trusted Kojima Productions, so Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance looks interesting.

I only have an academic interest in Nintendo at this point. I don’t own a Wii and am not likely to buy a Wii U. But it will be interesting to see if they can halt or reverse their negative momentum. The original Wii had a concept that sparked people’s imaginations and of course the reality of motion control didn’t live up to the vision that most people had for it. I don’t think the Wii U’s concept is going to spark imaginations. Nintendo is going to have to really work to explain why people should want it and therein lies the problem.

As Backfire mentioned, a US release of Mother 3 would be great, although I doubt it’ll ever happen.  One thing that I know for sure that’s going to happen is an unveiling of Pikmin 3. I loved the first games to death, and I can’t wait to see what they do with the third. I’m also thinking that Nintendo will announce a US release of Pandora’s Tower, so Operation Rainfall can be complete. I have heard that Pandora’s Tower was rather mediocre though so I don’t know…

I’m also thinking that they’ll announce a US release of Dragon Quest X, and I’m also thinking that the will show off a sequel to Eternal Darkness (a great horror title that most of you have probably never played) because Silicon Knights recently hinted at it in a recent interview. I’m hoping that my dreams will come true, and I’ll see all these things at E3 J

Than people will complain that Nintendo is using people that are not fowl mouth.

If it’s announced that the Wii U will run the Unreal Engine 4, I’ll be happy. But in all honesty, I think the entire event will be pretty uneventful aside from the Wii U. We’re too close to the end of the current generation to see any more huge game announcements for the current consoles, and both Microsoft and Sony won’t show their next consoles this year (at most they may mention them in passing). We’ll just be shown a whole load more HD ports of last gen games and a few pointless sequels for the 360 and PS3.

I guess I should have clarified that I meant that the presentation was lackluster and overperformed at the last E3 and that that itself didn’t produce much excitement. I was not commenting on the actual success of the Kinect overall. I abreviated to keep the post shorter for convenience sake. I am aware of the success of the Kinect (even though I don’t completely understand it) and that’s why I am certain they will push more Kinect stuff. I would have brought this up during the stream but I was having difficulties with my connection. It was my first time on though and it was good even though you insulted me =P Keep up the good work guys.

Shoot I missed it, stupid confusing 5th wednesday. Oh well, this looks like it’ll be a fun one. Also, why is part 3 only a minute long?

Ninto55 that one minute part is from the skit that they do after the ending of the Echo Screen Live.

    I won E3! Yaaaaaaaaaaaaay.

I was just being a smartass (dumbass) with that Wii University comment. I am fully aware that all consoles have ridiculous names and we get used to them. But they’re appending the U to the end of their exclusive games.  Zombi University. New Super Mario Brothers University. It’s never going away. As soon as you adapt to one, here comes another.

Oh well. Not like I was going to buy one or pay attention to it anyway.
